5 stars great book candy 2009-05-01

Reviewer: Djo

I found myself devouring all four novels of the series in one weekend. Meyers writes clearly and seamlessly, guiding the reader through this unusual and attractive world. I found the whole series to be solidly written and each novel adds its own interesting piece to the story. They surpassed my expectations and kept me enthralled throughout reading them. I would recommend for others to read the whole series in its entirety to experience the full impact of this fun new world Meyers created.

5 stars And the Saga continues. . . 2009-05-01

So I don't have anything new to add to previous reviews, but I will say that I really liked this one! It was not quite as good as the first, but a wonderful continuation. Jacob became a more interesting, likable character. Bringing in more about La Push and the reservation was great to explore. I thought it was a little odd that all of the secondary characters, mostly Bella's school peers, just about dropped out of the story completely. But Alice's prominence in the story was joyful - a breath of fresh air. Without spoiling too much -- I missed a certain character that was "away" during a great majority of the book. This did not hamper the story line terribly, just added some interesting conflict for Bella. I think I actually grieved along with Bella and found her self destructive behavior both understandable and heart breaking. Hard not to praise without giving away the plot.

I'm not an avid reader, I would maybe read one book a year if I'm lucky. With this series...I've read all 4 within 1 month!

5 stars Can't stop her from reading... 2009-05-01

Reviewer: Mom of many

Purchased for our 13 year old daughter who has never been big into reading. This series has her reading it over and over again (she is just finishing up reading the series for the third time). We are thrilled with how much she wants to read. The down side is that we have to take the books away from her at night so she can sleep! Her desire to read this series has her waking up at 6:00 a.m. so she can read for an hour or more before school, or quickly doing her chores after school so she'll have time to read them. Definitely worth the purchase price.

5 stars Incredible 2009-04-30

Amazing book, Stephenie Meyer is incredible as usual. She writes the book in a way that we can feel exactly what the characters feel, whether is love, passion or pain. I felt immersed in the story and completely unable to put the book down. It leaves you craving for the more. Absolutely incredible. I have found a new favorite author and also continued to fall for the characters she created and the world she described.
